Sarah brings to OJEN over ten years of experience in various capacities with non-profit organizations working with youth and the education system. She has participated as a staff member, as a volunteer, and on the Board of Directors of non-profit community organizations where she developed or implemented programs for students, aboriginal groups and youth-at-risk. Since her call to the bar, Sarah has been practicing education law at a Toronto law firm focusing on the legal issues arising in the school setting.

Andrea joins OJEN with a strong educational background, having previously worked as a high school teacher and adult educator. She has experience in program development, group facilitation and curriculum design, garnered from her previous work with youth and women's rights organizations. She graduated with a Bachelor of Education from OISE/UT.

Anna has a background both as a lawyer and an educator. She has several years of courtroom experience working as a litigator in the City of Toronto’s Legal Services Division. As a teacher, Anna designed and taught units for high school Law courses. Prior to joining OJEN, Anna completed an internship at the Canadian Civil Liberties Association. She is a graduate of Queen’s University’s Faculty of Law and the University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education.

With over a decade of experience working with marginalized youth in the not-for –profit sector both internationally and nationally, Asha is excited to bring her passion for education and advocacy to the OJEN team. Asha has worked in over a dozen countries and has extensive experience in program design, delivery and evaluation, group facilitation, quantitative and qualitative research as well as curriculum development. Asha attained her Master’s in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, TESL Ontario certification, and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Development from Dalhousie University.

Enisoné L. Kadiri, B.A.

A graduate of McGill University, Enisoné brings to OJEN a strong background in social justice advocacy, non-profit management, community based research and community development. She has worked in the non-profit sector in various capacities for over a decade, and has collaborated on projects at the local, national and international levels. Enisoné has worked with marginalized youth in mentoring capacities, and has extensive experience in program management, development, and evaluation garnered from her work with equity-seeking groups and women's rights organizations.

François joins OJEN having experience in community development in the Ottawa Francophone community, particularly with youth. He has delivered workshops all over Ontario and participated in theatre events in Montreal and Ottawa. François will build on his french-language advocacy and lobbying experience by bringing his skills to OJEN.

Jessica brings to OJEN her experience working with newcomers in addition to her previous employment and volunteer activities in the non-profit sector for the past 10 years. A graduate of Harvard University and Dalhousie Law School, Jessica clerked at the Federal Court in Ottawa before practicing immigration and refugee law at a Toronto law firm. She has worked with youth in after-school programs in Boston and Beirut, taught ESL classes in Istanbul and coordinated a student-run pro-bono immigration clinic in Halifax.

Mara joins OJEN with a background in corporate law and experience working with marginalized youth in mentoring capacities. A former executive member of the Black Law Students Association of Canada, Mara has experience in youth outreach, program management and justice programming for equity -seeking groups. Prior to attending Osgoode Hall Law School, Mara graduated magna cum laude from York University. Mara interned with the Corporate Counsel at Grace Kennedy Limited in Kingston, Jamaica. Prior to joining OJEN, Mara summered and articled with a full service law firm in Toronto.

Maureen comes to OJEN with seven years of classroom teaching and two years of coaching experience. She also brings experience in overseas volunteer aid work, primarily with orphanages in East Asia, South East Asia, and East Africa. During her teaching career, Maureen successfully created and led literacy themed fundraising projects for student participation to raise awareness about issues of poverty and to empower students to become active problem solvers.

Nadine comes to OJEN with a strong background in not-for-profit administration having more than a decade of experience as a performing arts fundraiser, publicist and general manager. Her other experience includes working as a litigation secretary for a criminal law firm and as a research assistant for the Office of Child and Family Services Advocacy.

Renae joins the OJEN team with over ten years of professional experience in administration including successful positions in Customer Service, Account Representation and Billing Administration. Renae has always had a passion for the legal field. As a second career, she completed her 2 year Law Clerk Diploma program at Seneca College in 2011 and is happy to bring both her professional experience in administration and her passion for the legal field together at OJEN.

Stephanie brings to OJEN her experience working with marginalized youth in educational and mentoring capacities and her experience in program development, management, and implementation, garnered from previous justice education programs for youth. Stephanie graduated with a law degree from the University of Toronto.

Sylvia Seo B.A., LL.B.

Sylvia joins OJEN with extensive experience in criminal law. A graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School, she completed her articles at a criminal defence firm and subsequently worked as an Assistant Crown Attorney. During law school, Sylvia also worked for the criminal Duty Counsel's office and mooted competitively in several national advocacy competitions in international, constitutional and administrative law. In addition to her legal experiences, Sylvia has been a long-time advocate for social justice and has been involved in many social justice advocacy initiatives - particularly for Aboriginal youths and North Korean refugees.
Nat Paul, B.A., M.A., A.B.D., B.Ed.
Project Leader - Educator Support
Nat comes to OJEN with a background in social theory, research and education. He is an Ontario Certified Teacher specializing in Inner-City Education and holds a Master of Arts in sociology and education. Nat has six years experience in social justice teaching in secondary, community college and university classrooms, where he has emphasized personal and social transformation through student engagement and empowerment. He joins the Educator Support team with a special interest in helping teachers to create effective, thought-provoking and relevant learning experiences for their students.
