OJEN Challenge for Educators

Whether you are a classroom teacher, a pre-service teacher, a principal, a community educator or a board administrator, you are actively introducing our young citizens to the importance of the justice system in a healthy democracy.  OJEN values the enthusiasm of teachers around the province, but also knows that we can also do more to help.  This year we have made it easy...

CELEBRATE - Tell 10 colleagues about the OJEN website

Every year new teachers are assigned to teach Law or Civics (especially Civics) and do not realize that there is a wealth of free resources, projects, and justice professionals ready to help.  Pass the word about the website, specific resource or OJEN's Institutes for teachers to your colleagues.  Remember OJEN also offers assistance for Family Studies and Business teachers, as well as elementary school teachers.

PARTICIPATE - Use 10 new OJEN classroom resources

We know it is easy to rely on last year's unit plans - but the law changes quickly.  Here is a list of 10 resources you can easily integrate into your classes over the next 12 months to update conversations, introduce contemporary legal debates or expand your students' interest beyond the criminal law.

BUILD - Donate $10 per month

OJEN is a charity that does not receive any provincial funding.  We rely on volunteers, donations and grants to keep the doors open.  If you are considering your own charitable contributions, or looking to make a donation in someone's name for a gift, consider OJEN.  We make it easy to make online donations with your debit or credit card, or by cheque.  Charitable tax receipts are available for any donation over $10 made by an individual.
